Some new Media

Posted by aprtrscience at 09:42 PM on January 14, 2010 Comments comments (1)

I've got two screenshots of one area in the final level.  Please keep in mind that it's still under construction, and needs much more detail work (but I promised to post new media today, and I intended to keep my word).

Please check 'em out in the Screenshots Section :3

I may sound like a broken record

But I'm back to work on this project, for all whom it may concern.  The hardest puzzle, in my opinion, is nearing presentation-quality so expect a few screens of it in the coming weeks.  If I can keep this pace of work, I should be able to provide a fairly steady flow of media

Down with the sickness

Well, I've landed myself a case of mono   Sleeping and eating (mostly the former,) is all that I've been doing lately.  Soon all that I'll be doing is schoolwork-eat-sleep, definitely no mapping.  I'm going to be honest, there will be minimal - if any - progress over the next month.

Just an update.

Started workign on lighting for the final level, as well as detailing.  I'll keep posting as I get close to another media release, but right now it's in limbo between fullbright and properly lit :þ

Time for a facelift

Ok, just in an effort to keep in touch here, I'm gonna outline my progress so far.

-Entire map-pack is playable, as of now.

-Last level is very messy, needs to be cleaned up to the point where it matches or exceeds the quality of the rest of the maps

-Earlier levels are all finished, just need a few more tweaks.

I'll get some media of the last level up as soon as it looks good enough ;)

Ground to a Halt

First, I'd like to thank Valve.  You've managed to f**k up the Model browser by adding TF2 .vmf's.  Only you could manage this.

Now!  What does this mean for my project?  Well, I can't make much progress other than roughing out my levels without models.  So, until Valve fixes this I can't really create much more content.  I'll work on polishing up what I have in place, but new content will have to be put on hold for a bit.  Going hand-in-hand with not being able to work, my previous estimate for a release (June 20,) will have to be revised.  Sorry, but the wait is going to be a little bit longer than I would have liked

PS:I've started recording for a Trailer!  Expect more info on this in the coming week or so!

Anyone who reads this!

I'm going to shamelessly ask you to shamelessly spread news of my project, if you don't mind of course!  See, right now this map-pack is fairly unknown, and I'd like to change that!  Know anybody with Portal on their PC?  Do they still like the game?  Tell 'em about me!  Have a forum or blog?  Post a link or talk about my project!  Word-of-mouth, emails, IM's, etc., any means of getting the news out!

/shameless marketing

The end is near...

In a good way, though!  I'm very close to completion, and I'm setting a goal for release around June 20th!  Expect more media soon, as well as more news posts!

Really!  It's there and awaiting your curious eyes!  7 new screenshots, 6 of which are BTS (maintenance) areas!

Head on over to the Screenshots section to check 'em out!!

Media Ahoy!

In the not-to-distant future, expect some new screenshots!

I'm going to focus this release on the gritty, maintainance areas hidden behind the pristine walls of the testing chambers!  I've tried to give these all a feeling of abandonment and grime, so they're a bit of a juxtaposition to the chambers.
